Polly Nicholson
An avid flower-picker since childhood, Polly’s first career was as a book specialist at Sotheby’s, where she developed an interest in antiquarian gardening books. There followed a year spent in Russia. On her return to London and whilst raising four children, she retrained in horticulture at The Chelsea Physic Garden.
A long planned move to the country followed, and the purchase of the house at Blackland was sealed with Polly’s discovery of its magical gardens.
Polly’s ambition was always to build a floristry business, but she was unable to find a flower supplier within workable distance. The obvious solution was to grow them for herself, and in abundance. The seeds of Bayntun Flowers were sown.
