Block Printing Workshop With Molly Mahon at Blackland House

Join Molly Mahon and Polly Nicholson of Bayntun Flowers for a day of creativity celebrating tulips. You will plant up a terracotta pot with tulips to take home as well as block printing your own 40x30cm frilly cushion using Molly's tulip blocks.

After a welcome cup of tea or coffee with cake, Polly will explain how she grows tulips sustainably in the garden at Blacklands. Then you'll take a walk around the extensive gardens, looking at possible locations to naturalise species tulips in herbaceous settings, grass and gravel.  As September is the beginning of the planting season, it is a perfect time to start planning your spring displays and all questions will be welcomed.

Polly will guide you through planting up your own terracotta pot full of species tulips, ready to take home with you.

Homemade lunch will be served in the garden if warm, or in the greenhouse if the weather isn’t so kind, before an afternoon of block printing with Molly.

Molly has designed brand new tulip printing blocks exclusive to her workshop series - using these blocks and Molly's palette of eco-friendly paints, you will experiment with colour and pattern to create your very own frilly cushion cover adorned with tulips  (cushion pad included).

The workshop is suitable for all levels with no experience necessary.

You will be working with fabric paint - aprons are provided for use on the day, but we advise not to wear your finery!
